Hello, My name is Lee, I am 23yrs old and Been married to my first love for 2years this month!! I have been TTC for 2yrs this month as well..and have had 7 M/C's. I believe but have not been Diagnosed yet with PCOS! I have struggled with my weight since I was about 14...I'm a shortie lol only 5'2" and have hovered in the 150-160 range most of my late teens, early 20's until I lost 30+lbs!! Then last year I put on an extreme amount of weight out of nowhere and didnt understand why..I am now sitting at 190lbs and not happy about it...I tried to lose the weight earlier this year with no success. the scale didnt even wanna budge..after noticing some very noticable traits of PCOS and my mother informing me that she also has this..It dawned on me that just because I get AF every month doesnt mean I dont have a problem! So I am hoping to battle a lot of problems with a good diet change...and eventually Help with Meds! Glad to be here!!  |

Lee, Congratulations on your 2-year wedding anniversary! The best advice I can give you regarding being diagnosed with PCOS is to find a Reproductive Endocrinologist if you don't have one already. 70% of women with PCOS are not diagnosed until they seek help with fertility issues... and I'm one of them. For years I've had the sneaking suspicion that I have PCOS, but Ob/Gyn after Ob/Gyn told me either "You probably don't have it" or "maybe you have it, but it's hard to diagnose." Well, finally I got a diagnosis after going to see a fertility specialist. I was speechless. Now I'm on Glucophage (Metaformin) and we hope to start TTC again in May. (We've been married since 1997 and TTC for several years now.) You might as well get used to a low carb lifestyle now if you may eventually be on Glucophage. You HAVE to stick with it pretty strictly while on the meds because otherwise too many carbs will make you ill. (I've tested this... I know what I'm talking about.) Don't know what PCOS is - thought glucvophage was only for diabetics. Is TTC something to do with your thyroid? Because you may have an undiagnosed condition - I did. Good luck
